Frequently asked
If something here isn't answered, ask — the list gets updated from real questions.
- Where does the data come from?
- Public complaints: App Store and Play Store reviews, Hacker News, Product Hunt, GitHub issues, Stack Exchange and configurable forum feeds. Nothing private, nothing scraped from behind a login. The method page shows live counts per source.
- Is this just an AI idea generator?
- No — the opposite. Nothing here is invented. Every opportunity is a complaint that many different people made independently, about software that already exists and already has paying users. A language model summarises and groups those complaints; it never creates one.
- Why is so much of it mobile apps?
- Because clustering needs repetition, and app reviews repeat: hundreds of people describe the same failure in nearly the same words. A Hacker News post is usually unique, so it stays a single mention and scores low. We say this on the home page rather than hide it — if you want greenfield ideas, this is the wrong tool.
- What does a score actually mean?
- A 0–100 blend of demand, pain intensity, supply gap and feasibility, then scaled down when a cluster rests on few mentions. Treat it as a ranking, not a measurement — the useful question is which opportunities beat which, not whether something is a 71 or a 74.
- How often does it update?
- Collectors run continuously through the day; clustering and scoring run nightly. The weekly digest goes out Monday morning. Numbers on this site are read live from the database on every request, so what you see is current.
- What's in the free tier?
- The top three opportunities in full: the quotes with links to the original reviews, the apps people complain about by name, complaint themes and the score breakdown. Pro adds the rest of the ranked list, search, category filters and the weekly digest.
- Can I cancel?
- Any time, from the billing page, which opens Stripe's own portal. Cancelling stops future renewals and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. If the service doesn't do what the site says it does, email within 14 days of a charge and we'll refund it.
- Do you store my card details?
- Never. Stripe handles payment and we never receive them. We store your email address, a session record and whether you're subscribed — that is the entire list, and it's set out on the privacy page.
- Someone quoted here wants their words removed.
- Email [email protected] and we'll remove it. Quotes are short extracts of public posts, shown with a link to the source to evidence the analysis.
- Can I get the data by API?
- Not yet. If that's what you need, say so — demand decides what gets built next.
